About suziegilbert

I live in New York’s beautiful Hudson Valley and have been rehabbing birds for over twenty years. I’ve written a memoir about the slippery slope all rehabbers eventually slide down, called “Flyaway: How a Wild Bird Rehabber Sought Adventure and Found Her Wings,” published in 2009 by HarperCollins; and a children's book called "Hawk Hill," published in 1996 by Chronicle Books. I also write all kinds of freelance content. Please see my website, www.suziegilbert.com

Love it! I swear someone is feeding the mockingbirds fertility drugs this year. I still have 4 fledglings and everyone else seems to be done in the bird world except the usual pigies, doves and sea and shore birds. What is up with this? lol

Ha ha, Charlene, maybe you just have really amorous mockers where you live. But you’re not the only one, I have rehabber FB friends who are still babysitting! Good luck with the fledgies, and never fear – they do have to grow up sooner or later 🙂
